About Reserve Telecommunications
In the midst of the Great Depression, a local Reserve, La., electrician had an idea that sparked the growth of St. John the Baptist Parish's first telephone company. Daniel Madere erected a single telephone pole and a few wires in front of his home. Then, he put his wife, Inez, on the switchboard, and in 1935, St. John Parish had its first local telephone service provider, Reserve Telephone Company.
And what began with just 15 customers on a single dirt road in Reserve has grown to serve more than 8,500 customers. Now, we're Reserve Telecommunications, one of the first, full-service, telecommunications providers in the nation with a fiber optic/coaxial network capable of delivering telephone, cable television and high speed Internet services in the parish. Whether in a package or as a single service, RTC gives the community the best value for their telecommunication needs compared to the competition. RTC uniquely offers customers the convenience of all three services with one call, one bill, one company.
RTC is proud to be born and raised in St. John Parish, and is committed to improving the quality of life for their friends and family in this community by supporting numerous civic organizations and schools. As you visit our web site, you will see that we have the most up-to-date information on news and events for St. John Parish.
